Mr. Tommy Taylor Thurman, age 79 of Winnsboro, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home. Tommy was born on November 17, 1936 in Winnsboro to the late Samuel "HI" Thurman and Myrtle Taylor Thurman. Tommy worked for BB Messimer in the oil business before working for Lee Ray Construction, followed by a partnership with CD Ballard in the milk trucking business, and finally Tom’s Dirt Work until retiring in 2008. He served in the National Guard, and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Midge (Coats) Thurman of Winnsboro; son, Wade Satterwhite and wife Tina of Winnsboro; sister, Linda Mabe and husband Mike of Sulphur Springs; nephew, Keith Mabe and wife Allison of Royce City; niece, Lisa Hardin and husband John of Mineola; two grandchildren, Dillon Taylor Satterwhite and wife Morgan, CJ Satterwhite Holland and husband Casey, all of Stillwater, OK. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 12th, 2016 at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro at 2:00 pm, Dr. David Rose and Chris Taylor conducting, interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro, with C.D. Ballard, B.B. Messimer, Hardy Hamm, Bill Holder, Bubba Gibson, Sammy Bell, Burke Bullock, Coy White, Max Gilliam, Nix Simons, Jimmy Hamm, David Simons, Bart Knight, Ralph Minick, Alan Bullock, Billy Gene Sparkman, and Don Neystel serving as pallbearers.
