Thomas C. Williams, 81, of Quitman, TX, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 22, 2019, in Tyler, TX, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born to Thomas Calvin Williams and Lena Mae Francis Joiner-Williams, May 9, 1938, in Fort Worth, TX. He attended school in Fort Worth, TX. He married Carol Brumbelow on March 29, 1968 and they lived together and raised four children in Terrell, TX prior to moving to Quitman in 1990. Thomas was a truckdriver until he retired in 1987. He was proud of all those years spent behind the wheel; however, the best part of every trip was always coming home to his family. In his younger days, he loved to take Carol dancing, as well as riding dirt bikes and three-wheelers with his children. A huge part of his heart were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved being “Pawpaw.” His legacy lives on through his four children, sons; Donny Williams and his wife Sharon, of Springtown, TX, Calvin Williams of Palestine, TX, Raymie Williams and his wife Cyndi, of Whitney, TX, James Grimes, of Terrell, TX; daughter, Theresa Brown and her husband Keith, of Wills Point, TX. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, pawpaw, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; Thomas Calvin Williams and Lena Taylor; brothers, Billy and Don Williams; sister, Marcella Ann Vassar; daughter in law, Tricia Grimes; two puppy dogs, “Snowball” and “Pumpkin.” Celebration of life is scheduled for October 25, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, TX. Graveside service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Gerald and Darrell Gunstanson will officiate the ceremony. The family would also like to thank the physicians and nurses at Christus Trinity Mother Frances for their unwavering compassion.
