Tommy Albert Ivey, born May 22, 1970, in Mt. Vernon, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, in his hometown of Winnsboro, Texas. Tommy was a cherished member of the community and a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He could always make you laugh and smile when you were around him.


Tommy grew up in Winnsboro, where he attended Winnsboro High School and graduated with the Class of 1989. He was a member of the varsity football team and loved playing the game. After high school, he served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. His commitment to service reflected his deep sense of duty and integrity.


Following his military service, Tommy embarked on a career in building fabrication, where he applied his skills with dedication and craftsmanship. Outside of his professional life, Tommy was known for his love of woodworking, portrait drawing, and fishing. He found joy in these hobbies and cherished the time spent with family and friends, including his beloved dog, Bubba that was always by his side.


Tommy is survived by his mother, Sharie Ivey of Winnsboro; his brother, Ricky Ivey, and his wife, Kay, also of Winnsboro; his nephews, Dylan and Dustin Ivey; and his loyal canine companion, Bubba. He was preceded in death by his father, Dwayne Ivey, who passed away on September 20, 2009.


Tommy will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
