Tommy Jay Payne

Tommy Jay Payne, age 78, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Sunday, September 24, 1933 in Borger, Texas to Thomas and Pauline Payne. He was a Maintenance Supervisor for the State of California and a member of Quitman Church On The Rock.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas R. Payne; and his wife Patricia Payne.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline Brady of Bakerfield, California; two sons, Mitchell Payne and wife Bobbie of Dolores, Colorado and Kevin Payne of Long Beach, California; two daughters, Teresa Payne of Bakersfield and Peggy Punako and husband Tom also of Bakersfield; a sister, Kalyn Slayton and husband Kay of Bakersfield; cousins, Marvin Tinsley, Leland Tinsley and Norma Jean Avants all of Quitman, Texas; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his church family; P & P Group; and many friends

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Church on the Rock in Quitman with Rev. Jim Rapp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Church on the Rock Quitman Building Fund or Missionary Fund.
