Velma Ree Hogue

Mrs. Velma Ree Hogue, age 87 of Mineola, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Friday, March 17, 2023 in Mineola. She was born on October 1, 1935 in Jones County, Texas to the late Jessie Lee Price and Beulah Genella Price.

Velma was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Joe Hogue on February 5, 2000.

Survivors include her sons, Joe Hogue and wife, L'Donna of Quitman, James Hogue of Quitman, Gary Hogue of Quitman and Chris Hogue and wife, Sondra of Mineola; daughters, Barbara Steele and husband, Charles of Edgewood, Norma Riddle and husband, Kenneth of Quitman and Janet Davis of Mineola; brothers, Ernie Price and Bill Price of Burlington, Kansas; sisters, June Knight of Overbrook, Kansas, Lois Simons of Stanton, Texas, Betty Krupa of Burlington, Kansas, and Ruby Allen of Kansas City, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm on Monday, March 20th, at Beaty Funeral Home with Rev. Byron George conducting. Interment will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery in Golden, with Ricky Rohus, Eddie Roman, Kyle Sump, Kalub Sump, Donny Hogue, and Chevy Hogue serving as pallbearers.
