Velma Shelton

A beautiful lady Velma (Barnett) Shelton, received her reward in heaven on March 31, 2022. Velma was born on February 8, 1930, in Lindale, Texas, to the late Alton and Exa (Rouse) Barnett. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Clyde Overton Shelton, Jr.; son, Jerry Shelton; sisters Kathleen Robertson and Jean Gothard. Mrs. Shelton was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mineola. Her love of God's creation was evident with all the flowers and plants she cultivated with loving care. She is survived by her son Terry Shelton and wife Sandi, Joey Shelton and wife Carla; brother Nelson Barnett and wife Dorothy; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 4th at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola followed by the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Mark Neeley officiating. Burial will the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
