Virginia Grace Burns

Virginia Grace Burns, age 88 of Winnsboro, passed from this life on Friday, February 13, 2009 in Mt. Pleasant. She was born in Mt. Vernon on January 23, 1921 to the late Grover and Maye Davis Adams. She was a retired teacher, having taught at Winnsboro and Mt. Vernon ISD's, She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro. She sang in the Tom Briley Quartet, had a weekly gospel singing program on KIMP in Mt. Pleasant for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Tom Briley; and one brother, Glen Adams. She is survived by her husband, Earl Burns of Winnsboro; brother, Dr. Charles Adams of Houston; one niece, three nephews, six step-children,and numerous great nieces and nephews.
