Virginia grew up in the Old Cypress Community and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1955. She participated in basketball, pep squad, and FHA as a student. She attended and graduated from Tyler School of Business in Tyler, Texas. She worked as the secretary for the President of Jarvis Christian College, was a receptionist for Starnes Animal Clinic, and became an entrepreneur of her own cleaning service. She was a lifelong learner and loved to read. She always wanted to know more about how to improve her health, how to care for her animals, and all the beautiful places she still wanted to visit.

She loved helping her late husband, Densal, at Christmastime by playing Mrs. Santa Claus, something they both loved doing together. She also loved sharing her world with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved traveling to support them at their games or events they were performing in. It was always a treasured time when they could come to the country for a few days and join her and Densal. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was quick to share their latest accomplishments or the latest picture of one of them. She provided her family with the true meaning of love and always reminded them that family was the most important thing. She deeply loved her family, her siblings, and her friends.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Marice Densal Wilson. She is survived by her son, Ray Wilson and wife Terri of Marshall; son, Ronny Wilson and wife Karla of Sweeny; daughter, Robin Wilson of Waco; sister Ruth Thomas of Blossom; brother Billy Paul Douglas and wife Doylene of Old Cypress; sister Linda Smith and husband Jimmy of Old Cypress; grandchildren, Timothy Wilson and wife Jacie of Shreveport, Benjamin Wilson and wife Brandy of Harleton, Aaron Wilson and wife Alisha of Marshall; Sean Wilson and wife Lezlea of Groveton, Jacquelyn Wilson Younger and husband Tyce of Panhandle, Claire Wilson Crawford and husband Joshua of Elgin, Abigail Wilson Troell and husband Hunter of Spring and Peyton Wilson of The Woodlands; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 grand dogs. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Matilda Brumley Douglas and Edgar Howard Douglas, Jr.; sisters Dorothy Jean Douglas and Carolyn Flora; and brother James Howard Douglas.

Special thank you to St. Anthony’s Care Center of Waco, Amedisys Hospice, and Oakwood House of Marshall; her loving nurses over the last several years: LaKesha, Jessica, and Ashley; and all the caregivers at St. Anthony’s and Oakwood.
