Wanda Joyce Hardin, a beloved mother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in Winnsboro, Texas. Born on May 6, 1936, Wanda lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her unwavering devotion to family and her deep involvement in her community.

Wanda was a homemaker and worked with her late husband, Jimmy Newton, in their Ford Tractor shop until his death in 1979, a role she cherished with great love and enthusiasm. A longtime member of Tinney Chapel Methodist Church, her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, shaping her connection with others and her commitment to service.

Known for her incredible talent in quilting, Wanda made hundreds of beautiful quilts that have become treasured heirlooms for family and friends alike. Her favorite place was her quilting room, where the simple act of stitching fabric together brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

Wanda is survived by her loving son, J. A. Newton and his with JaneAnne; her devoted brother, Sam Gearner; her cherished sister, Sandra Coffey; five grandchildren, James Newton (Melissa), Joey Newton (Rita), Shelley Hodges (David), Kevin Tinney (Ashley), and Travessa Tinney; twelve great-grandchildren, Grant, Julian, Taylor, Lane, Easton, Bailey, Rylie, Brandon, Jacob, Hunter, Travis, and Allison; and one great-great-grandchild, Teller. Each of these connections was a source of pride and happiness for Wanda, as she took great joy in witnessing the lives of her family flourish.
