Willard Wayne Kirkpatrick

Willard Wayne Kirkpatrick, age 95, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Sunday, August 26, 1917 in Hawkins, Texas to the late James Henry and Margaret Ann Kirkpatrick. He served in the United States Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart. He was an engine operator for the Exxon Plant in Hawkins.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Itha Marcile Kirkpatrick; a brother, James Joe Dempsey Kirkpatrick; and two sisters, Mary Henry Baird and Stella Mona Green.

He is survived by a son, Wayne Kirkpatrick of Hawkins; two daughters, Gayle Kirkpatrick of Hawkins and Annette Reed of Cedar Hill, Texas; one grandchild, Meredith Hancock of Tyler, Texas; and one great-grandchild, Abigale Hancock.

Graveside services will be held at Hawkins Cemetery on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home of Mineola and officiated by Rev. Fred Morrow.
