Willemke Bouma

Willemke Bouma, a beloved member of the community, passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on June 14, 1935, in Spears, The Netherlands, Willemke was the daughter of Bean and Elizabeth Wiersma.

Willemke spent her time shaping young minds as a kindergarten teacher before marriage. Her passion for nurturing extended beyond the classroom as she tended to her beloved flowers and garden, finding solace and joy in the beauty of nature.

In 1963, Willemke married the love of her life, Tjitze Bouma, and together they shared a life filled with love and companionship until his passing in 2009. They were blessed with four children: three sons, Aise, Brian, and Maiko, and one daughter, Lize, all of whom were the pride and joy of their parents' lives.

Willemke attended Pine Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro, where she found spiritual guidance and formed connections within her community.

She is survived by her loving children, Aise, Brian, Maiko, and Lize; four brothers, John, Knilles, Jelle, and Durk; one sister, Sandra Kramer: seven grandchildren and one great grandchild and a host of cherished family and friends. Willemke now joins her husband, Tjitze, and one brother, Hessel, in eternal peace.

Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
