William Charles Aubrey

William Charles Aubrey, age 73, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2025. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on January 30, 1952, to Milford Charles Aubrey and Lillie Mae Bell Aubrey.

William proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he pursued higher education, earning his undergraduate degree from Dallas Baptist University and later a Master's Degree in Divinity.

For seven years, William dedicated himself to serving others as a Chaplain at Baylor Hospital. His commitment to service extended to the Texas National Guard, where he also served as a Chaplain.

During the time he and his wife, Shelley Aubrey, resided in Ennis, Texas, William was an active volunteer, lending his time and energy to local theater events and the farmers market. Shelley and William lived in Rockwall for ten years before moving to Innis from 2014 to 2020, and finally settling in Winnsboro, Texas, in 2020.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Milford Charles Aubrey and Lillie Mae Bell Aubrey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shelley Aubrey; his son, William J. Lucas Aubrey and wife Michelle of Lindale, Texas; and his son, William Travis Aubrey of Lubbock, Texas. He is also survived by his brothers, Dimmette and Milton Aubrey; his sister, Veta Bird; and his five cherished grandchildren, Elijah, Finley, Deacon, Knox and Caroline.
