William Cason

Mr. William "Bill" Cason, age 77 of Winnsboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Naples, Tex. on November 22, 1934 to the late Jefferson Lenn and Mattie Bell Carruth Cason. He married Kathryn Sims on August 6, 1953 in Mt. Vernon, Tex. He retired from Verizon Communications after 37 years. He was involved in the Winnsboro Autumn Trails Trail Riders for many years, and enjoyed his antique John Deere tractor in later years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Cason; sister, Nancy Bauer. He is survived his wife of 58 years, Kathryn Cason of Winnsboro; sons, Billy Cason of Dallas, Randy Cason and wife Karen of Winnsboro; grandsons, Justin Cason of Winnsboro, Chase Cason and wife Ashley of Flint; great-grandson, Zachary Cason; sister-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth Cason of Mt. Vernon; nieces, nephews, and special friends, Ronnie, Alicia, and Blaine Moore of Winnsboro. Graveside services will be held at Lee Cemetery on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Winnsboro or Tinney Chapel United Methodist Church.
