William Henry Harris

William Henry Harris, age 84, died on Sunday, April 7, 2013 in Mineola, Texas. He was born on Thursday, August 30, 1928 in Pine Mills, Texas to the late John and Francis Harris. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the Cold War. He was retired from Tyler Pipe Industries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Virginia Harris.

He is survived by three sons, Dean Shreves of Tyler, Texas, Michael Harris of Mineola and William P. Harris also of Mineola; two daughters, Evelyn Davenport of Mineola and Desiree Harris of Tyler; eight grandchildren, Tina Colbert and husband Travis of Quitman, Texas, Kay Cottin and husband Bobby of N. Richland Hills, Texas, Larry Davenport and wife Delisa of Frankston, Texas, Lindsey Harris of Mineola, Gracie Harris of Mineola, Sheila Cash and husband Steven of Mineola, Tonya Basque and husband Nick of Richland, Texas, Desiree Harris of Tyler; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation for Mr. Harris will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 6 – 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Mineola on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Larry Kromer officiating.

Interment will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
