William Olen Peace

William Olen Peace, age 85 of Quitman, Texas, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in Quitman. He was born on Friday, September 26, 1924 in McKinney, Texas to the late William and Thelma Peace. He was a Baptist, a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and a volunteer Wood County Election Official.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wendell Miles; and a daughter, Patricia Lynn Peace.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Peace of Quitman; two sons, Gerald Peace of Pine Mills and Glenn Edward Peace of Quitman; four daughters, Helen Haag of Hawkins, Martha J Wilson Heffner of Pine Mills, Linda Sue Huddleston of Rusk and Kathaleen Scholl of Georgetown; two sisters, Pauline Cantrell of Garland and Evelyn Collinsworth also of Garland; eighteen grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren and thirteen great great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Peace will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, September 16, 2011 with a graveside service following at Cedars Memorial Gardens.
