Mr. Willie “Buddy” Briggs, age 83 of Branson, MO, passed away on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 18th, 1932 in Point to the late Thurman Briggs and Leona Spencer Briggs. He retired from Texas Instruments after a long career as supervisor of the machine shop, he also had his own machine shop in Mesquite for many years before and after his retirement. He was a member of the Allen Pentecostal Church in Galena, MO. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Clarine Ballard Briggs; brothers, Earl, Irvin, Raymond, Rayford, Jimmy, and Orville Briggs; sister, Bobbie Dodson; and son, Chris Clay. He is survived by a son, Randy Joe Briggs, and wife Lana of Quinlan; daughters, Vicki Summers and husband David of Terrell, Carlene Miller and husband John of Merriam Woods, MO., Carla Weathers and husband Mike of Winnsboro, Cassandra Estrada and husband Athiel of Branson, MO.; brother, Robert Briggs of Mesquite; sisters, Maxine Sherwood of Wylie, Margie Spinpaugh and husband Garvin of Celina, Peggy Clem of Miller Grove; grandchildren, Randall Briggs, Jr., Michael Summers, Ryan Summers, Ashley Watkins, Angela Kenney, Shawn Briggs, Heather Summers, John Miller, Caitlyn Miller, Eli Estrada, Dylan Estrada; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9th, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro at 10:00 am, Bro. Charles Ethridge conducting, interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery in Winnsboro, with Ryan Summers, Randall Briggs, Jr., Shawn Briggs, Brett Kenney, Athiel Estrada, Mike Weathers serving as pallbearers.
