Willie Mae "Bobbie" Weeks

May 20, 1929 — Sep 6, 2026

Willie Mae Whitus (Bobbie) Weeks

Bobbie gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, September 6, 2026 very early in the morning. Bobbie married Dorles Weeks on May 22, 1948 and they enjoyed 74 years of marriage together until Dorles's passing on March 24, 2023. Bobbie has missed Dorles dearly since his passing and we know that reuniting with Dorles in the loving presence of Jesus is her ultimate joy.

Bobbie was born in Alba, Texas on May 20, 1929 to Harve Mac and Mattie Kimble Price Whitus. She was proceeded in death by her parents and sister, Donnie Louise Prather, brothers Olen Whitus, Clyde Whitus, Roy Whitus, and Everett Whitus.

Left to cherish her sweet memory are her daughters Donna Bishop (Allen) and Lana Gilliam (Bobby), three grandchildren: Melanie Henderson (Jason), Bobby Gilliam Jr., and Alison Farris (Wes), two great grandchildren: Hannah and Hadley Henderson, and nephews Mack Prather and Dean Prather.

Bobbie and Dorles raised their two daughters in Little Rock, Arkansas where they also worked together at Weeks Paint Company. Bobbie kept the books, filled all the administrative and billing roles, and served as Dorles's "right hand" growing the business to multiple locations.

Bobbie was strong in her Christian faith from an early age and stayed faithful in study and prayer until her final breath. She was very active at Geyer Springs Baptist Church for decades serving on several committees and volunteer efforts in the Little Rock community.

Bobbie and Dorles retired together and moved back to Alba in 1992. Bobbie enjoyed retirement by traveling, spending special time with friends, and gathering with her family. Her home was the Christmas "gathering spot" for her extended family who would travel far and wide to be together every Christmas.

Anyone who knows Bobbie knows she loved game shows, especially the Wheel of Fortune. You never called her or visited when "The Wheel" was on television. Bobbie found a window to the world through her phone. She enjoyed texting with friends, viewing pictures, and playing games. Bobbie was also able to keep track of her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting and coaching careers through her phone and it never left her side.

Bobbie had many special friends who visited and cared for her in her later years including Audrey, Renee and Andrew Viles (Bobbie's domino companion), Melba Kelly, Diane Haiston, Vicki Atherton, Debbie Ringgold, Jean Lewers, Mike Humphries, and Ann and Dan Medlin.

The family would especially like to thank Joyce Margos for being Bobbie's guardian angel who cared for Bobbie with tremendous love and compassion.

Serving as pallbearers are Steven Margos, David Margos, Dan Medlin, Mike Humphries, Michael Hunt, and Leon Anderson.

Services will be held at Beaty Funeral Home on Friday, September 11th at 1pm with visitation beginning at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Alba First Baptist Church where Bobbie was active until her health declined.
