Willis N. Brummett, 85, of Pickton, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Willis was born on July 24, 1934 in Alba, Texas to Auther J. Brummett and Mozelle (Gaddis) Brummett. Mr. Brummett owned and operated W.B. Container in Balch Springs and was a member of Flora Masonic Lodge No. 119 in Quitman, member of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite and enthusiastic member of the Lake Country Antique Tractor Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson Justin Holder, brothers Junior, Tommy and Bill. Willis was also preceded in death by his four legged buddy Louie, who gave him many years of love and joy. Mr. Brummett is survived by his wife Lanell (Peters) Brummett, son Darrell Mark Brummett and wife Marla, daughter Lacey Holland and husband Richard, grandchildren Jacob, Rachel, and Caleb, great-granddaughter Mabry and nephew Mike Brummett and his significant other Aleida. A funeral for Willis will be held on Wednesday, August 7th at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Bro. Mike Fletcher officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial followed the service at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Quitman.
