Wilma Fay Rogers, a cherished member of her community and a devoted servant of compassion, passed away on May 6, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on May 23, 1933, in Roswell, New Mexico, to John and Cecil Beeman Starks,


Wilma's life was defined by her selfless dedication to others. In 1981, Wilma relocated to Mineola, Texas, where she began an admirable career at Wood Nursing Home. For an impressive 36 years, she served as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Housekeeper, and Cook's Helper, touching the lives of countless residents with her warmth and care. Her commitment to her work was unparalleled, and she retired at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service.


A faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Mineola, Wilma found great joy in her religious community. For nearly five decades, she shared her faith as a Sunday school teacher, impacting the lives of generations with her wisdom and love.


Wilma is survived by her daughter, Janet Leevey and husband Ronald of Alba, Texas; three grandsons, Ronnie and wife Audra of San Antonio, Texas, Danny and wife Connie of Waco, Texas, and Ben and wife Christi of Lindale, Texas; along with ten cherished great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents John and Cecil Starks; her sons Kenny, Larry, Johnny, and Billy Rogers; her daughter, Carolyn Monk; as well as her sister, Adalie Childress, and brother, Cliford Starks.


Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday May 12, 2024 at Sand Flat Cemetery in Grand Saline, Texas.


Wilma will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her gentle spirit, and her dedication to her family and community. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.


Wilma Fay Rogers leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her life made a profound difference in the lives of others.


Graveside service is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Sand Flat Cemetery in Grand Saline, Texas.
