Winnie Hammonds

Winnie Charlene (Weatherford) Hammonds, age 97 of Arp, formerly of Winnsboro, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at her home. Winnie was born in Mt. Vernon on March 8, 1918 to the late Frank and Mary Lessie Lee Weatherford. She was retired secretary and a member of the United Church of God in Big Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James David Hammonds; son, Berry Lee Hammonds. She is survived by her son, David John Hammonds and wife Nancy of Edgewood; daughter, Kay Joiner of Arp; sister, Betty Lawrence of Mt. Vernon; seven grandchildren thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, with graveside services following at 11:00 AM at Harmony Cemetery.
