Zena Lavon Webb

d. October 17, 2024

Zena LaVon Webb, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior peacefully on October 17th, 2024, at the age of 83. She was surrounded by her loving family.

LaVon was born the seventh of eight children on May 21st, 1941, to Alvin Coy and Mary Lee Cleveland in Cleburne, TX. They moved to Dallas, TX soon after LaVon was born. Alvin Coy was a carpenter, and Mary Lee was a homemaker and volunteered at her church.

She met the love of her life, Billy Wayne Webb, Sr., while working at a movie theater when she was a teenager. Billy soon joined the navy and was stationed in Okinawa Japan where they continued their courtship through letter writing. Upon Billy’s return, they married, and after a short stint in Washington, they settled in Dallas, TX. They had three children, Billy Webb, Jr., David “Bubba”, and Kim. LaVon and Billy built a home full of love and grace that was extended to everyone who entered. They were married over 65 years.

LaVon loved the Lord and was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed working in the yard, cooking big meals for her family, and creating special memories with her husband, family, and friends. She loved children and they brought her great joy.

LaVon had an excellent work ethic and was valued by all her employers. Her career highlights include Office Manager for Dorsett Carpet Mills located in the Dallas World Trade Center, Accounting Clerk for the office of Judge Freeman in Dallas County, and lastly, County Court Clerk for the Dallas District Attorney’s office, from which she retired.

LaVon was preceded in death by her son, David “Bubba” Webb; father, Alvin Coy; mother, Mary Lee; and her older siblings, Bobby, Alva Lee, Glenn, Larry, Jean, and Jo. She is survived by her husband, Billy Webb, Sr.; her children, Billy Webb, Jr. and his wife, Rita; Kim Woudstra and her husband, Jim; her daughter of the heart, Amy Shipman and her husband, Ldon; her grandchildren, Preston, Trey, Clayton, Coy, Abbey, and Parker; her grandchildren of the heart, Stormi, Dakota, and Sierra; great grandchildren; and sister, Dianne Evans.

A special thank you to all of the Christus Health medical staff and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for the incredible and loving care provided to LaVon.
