Zonnie Rae Griffin

Funeral services for Zonnie Rae Griffin of Winnsboro,Texas will be held on Thursday, June 4th, at the Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro with the Reverend Jim Hilton officiating. Visitation will be held at 1pm with funeral services immediately following at 2pm. Born on October 3,1929, to Willard and Eppie Snow. She had a peaceful passage home to the Lord on May 31, 2015.

She was devoted to serving the Lord as a member of the congregation of Tinney Chapel United Methodist Church and served in various positions. A strong believer in public education, her career spanned over 30 years as school secretary, retiring as the superintendent's secretary, with the Mesquite Independent School District. She was an active member and supporter of the Autumn Trails Model A Club and the Lazy 8’s V8 Club.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Carl Griffin, and her children, Marc Griffin and his wife, Judy; Marsha Griffin and her husband, Michael Seifert; Marcella Salter; Marilyn Ballem and her husband, Jerry. She was the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Euwana McElroy, Renia Louise Snow, Opal Fae Snow, Rheda Mae Snow, Nathan Willard Snow, Jr . She is also survived by her sister, Jackie Burks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Matt Hicks, Marc Griffin, Jr., Addison Griffin, Jason Smith, Charles Brewer and Lon Neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tinney Chapel.
